Park Slope this week: Super Stoop Saturday, a makers fair at the Old Stone House, and a Safdie restoration for the Pacific library
Saturday is Super Stoop, the Civic Council's second go at turning the whole neighborhood into one stoop sale. Last year more than 250 households took part. Bring cash, bring a tote, and plan on coming home with something you did not need.
The same day, the Old Stone House fills with weavers and woodworkers, and Shakespeare goes on a pub crawl down Fifth Avenue. And the Pacific branch library at Fourth Avenue is getting a full restoration from Safdie Architects.

Safdie Architects will restore the Pacific branch library
The Pacific branch at 25 Fourth Avenue, at Pacific Street, opened in 1904 as Brooklyn's first Carnegie library. The plan from Safdie Architects, with AYON Studio as architect of record and preservation architect, restores the original conical roof and skylight and adds a two-story solarium, a sunken garden, a new entrance, bigger children's and teen spaces, classrooms, room for adult learning and single-user restrooms, in a 1,500 square foot extension. No cost or construction timeline yet. Moshe Safdie said the goal is to remove the changes made over the past century.

Super Stoop Day, all over the neighborhood
The Park Slope Civic Council's second Super Stoop turns the neighborhood into one walkable stoop sale: households, schools and businesses selling or giving things away from their stoops, with the registered ones on a digital and a printed map so you can plan a route. The first one, in 2025, drew more than 250 households. Maps and updates are on the Civic Council's site and Instagram. Rain date is Sunday.
